Ian D. Jones lives in the San Francisco bay area, and comes from a long line of artists of varying types. Starting out documenting family vacations, and then as a hobby photographing local flora and fauna, Jones received a lot of compliments from family, friends, and -- notably -- Dr. Temple Grandin of Colorado State University, whose enthusiasm and encouragement for his work finally convinced him to pursue photography full time.
A wheelchair user, Jones believes his disability is not a hindrance, but that it gives him a unique (literal) point of view on the details in life that often slip by unnoticed. It is that perspective which sets Jones apart from other photographers.
